Björn Rosenthal becomes Chief Product Officer at Ringier Sports Media Group

On October 1, Björn Rosenthal will become Chief Product Officer of the Ringier Sports Media Group (RSMG). His broad expertise in digital sports, media and AI-driven solutions, which he has gained during more than two decades, will be invaluable for RSMG, which operates 8 leading sports media brands across 8 European countries, reaching more than 25 million fans with its platforms monthly – powered by around 400 colleagues. With his strong technical background, combined with a great passion for sports and media, he will drive RSMG's global digital product and innovation strategy forward.

Björn Rosenthal most recently served as Head of Product at DFL Digital Sports GmbH, a subsidiary of the Deutsche Fußball Liga GmbH. For the digital products of the Bundesliga he led key initiatives, focusing on building platforms for international markets, leveraging AI to enhance user engagement and content personalization. In addition to his role at DFL, Björn is also the founder and CEO of botBrains, an AI-driven company that transforms customer interactions through seamless chatbot integration and helps football clubs increase their reach with AI-generated live tickers and match reports.

Earlier in his career, Björn held key product management roles at Deutsche Welle, Germany’s international public broadcaster. Björn studied Computer Science at the Berlin University of Applied Sciences and completed an editorial traineeship at NBC GIGA.
