Marcus Dauck (born 1972) became Chief Information Officer at Ringier AG in January 2014. From 2010 to 2014, he was CIO at Ringier Axel Springer Media AG and was responsible for all the group’s activities in Central Eastern Europe. He was also a member of the executive board at DreamLab z.o.o., Onet.pl’s technology hub. Dauck began his career at Axel Springer SE in Hamburg in 1988, where he was responsible for the company’s commercial advertising and financial IT systems until 2000. From 2000 to 2004, he advised the three biggest media companies in India on site on behalf of Siemens Management Consulting as they underwent a complete restructuring and process optimisation of their editorial and production divisions. Following further projects in Dubai and Cyprus, he returned to Axel Springer SE in 2005 as head of IT for editing, marketing and CRM. He was responsible in particular for the development of Die Welt’s first newsroom, the news website Welt.de and its associated regional websites. He also played a defining role in positioning the IT team as a central service provider.
