Verena Vonarburg studied history as well as constitutional and international law at the University of Bern. She gained journalistic experience as a reporter and editor of news magazine 10vor10 at Schweizer Fernsehen and as SRF's parliamentary correspondent.
From 2002 onwards, Vonarburg took on a variety of roles in journalism, notably as parliamentary correspondent at Tages-Anzeiger and, between 2011 and 2014, as senior consultant at public affairs and communications agency Furrer Hugi & Partner in Bern with a focus on political advice and communication.
She became the Director of the Swiss Media Association (VSM) in March 2014, before joining the Ringier Group in early 2016 as Head of Public Affairs.
