Martin Blaser will step down as CEO of Ringier Sports and relinquish all operational responsibilities at the end of September 2021. As a result, Martin Blaser will join the Board of Directors of Ringier Sports, a subsidiary of the Ringier Group. Alexander Grimm will be the new CEO of Ringier Sports.
2 September 2021. Lagos, Nigeria. Autochek, the automotive technology company facilitating auto financing across Africa and ROAM Africa (Ringier One Africa Media) have entered into an agreement for Autochek to acquire automotive marketplaces Cheki Kenya and Cheki Uganda, as Autochek expands further into the African market. The deal will be finalised within the following weeks and will see Cheki Kenya and Uganda’s operations integrate with the wider Autochek operations. The move comes just one year after Autochek successfully acquired Cheki Nigeria and Ghana as part of its launch in West Africa.
The merger of TX Markets and Scout24 Schweiz’s online marketplaces will form a leading Swiss group spanning the real estate, vehicle, financial services and general marketplace sectors. The joint venture will create one of the largest digital companies in Switzerland. All involved parties will hold minority interests in the joint venture. The independent group will pursue the medium-term goal of going public.
